22 - 23 March 2007 in Tampere/ FI: BEPART Symposium

"Entrepreneurship Promotion in Networks – Challenge for Network Learning and Evaluation" was the topic of this international symposium, hosted by our partner university in Tampere.
The idea behind this symposium: Entrepreneurship promotion within regions can only succeed if several relevant actors combine their respective competences and resources towards the common goal of providing professional support for (potential) entrepreneurs and their often different needs and expectations. No single actor can deliver everything - at least not in high quality. This assumption and experience challenges a network-approach. Networking can mean different things, from exchange of knowledge and experience to a sharing of work. The reality behind 'networking' as a buzzword is often a difficult job requirement for those who are engaged in networks. Can certain modes of learning and destined evaluation approaches support the work, quality and  results of networks, and if so: how?

Preliminary output of the conference is a documentation in our download-area. Still online is the Conference Website and the latest program here (pdf).

11 - 13 July 2005 IntEnt Conference

Members from the BEPART network were invited to present during the “Internationalising Entrepreneurship Education and Training Conference” IntEnt 2005 at the University of Surrey (UK). The conference attracted approximately 200 delegates from 23 nations and focused on the task of Fostering Entrepreneurship through Education. http://www.intent-conference.de/

BEPART partners from Tallinn Technical University (Ene Kolbre, Urve Venessar and Toomas Piliste) contributed on “Entrepreneurship Education and Entrepreneurial Initiative in Estonia”. Paula Kyro and Kaisa Hyrsky from Tampere University showed in how far “Woman Entrepreneurship Programme Breaks Government’s Gender Neutrality in Finland”. Tönis Mets and Urmas Varblane (Univ.of Tartu) presented their comparative research results on “Higher Education Institutions in the Fostering of Entrepreneurship in Central, East and South-East European Countries”. Poster sessions on BEPART were given by project coordinator Christoph Diensberg.

The partcipiation has been quite encouraging for BEPART as the main messages and topics exactly reflected what BEPART is working on. And as David Kirby from Surrey pointed out: “Around the world, and not just in the UK, universities are being exhorted to contribute to the creation of entrepreneurial cultures. This is not unexpected in a modern, knowledge-based economy.”
