University of Tampere School of Economics and Business Administration (Finland)
With its six faculties the University of Tampere attracts currently some 15000 students, 1800 post graduates and 600 foreign students. School of Economics and Business Administration belongs to the Faculty of Economics and Administration. Its research and education focuses on leadership on private and public organizations and communities and on renewing of operations as a part of social change. The strengths of School of Economics and Business Administration are for example the contacts to the other faculties and departments within the multi-scientific university. It also works actively in the networks of different development units and business life in the area.
By the establishment of a Professorship for Entrepreneurship Education (so far the only one in Finland) the University of Tampere proved its visions and farsightedness. Entrepreneurship education in scientific research and teaching started as a new subject in 2003. The University of Tampere is a national coordinating university of entrepreneurship education in Finland and has been nominated a regional centre of expertise in entrepreneurship education. The goal of entrepreneurship education at the University of Tampere is to develop a scientific knowledge base and competence in entrepreneurship education and to become a national expert in entrepreneurship education. The program consists of three parts: (1) Entrepreneurship pedagogy based on research, (2) internationally recognized scientific collections and (3) personal and virtual research, learning and interest group networks.
Within BEPART University of Tampere contributes expertise for promoting and teaching entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial virtual pedagogy. Furthermore it plays a leading role in carrying through the process of constant learning and evaluation within the BEPART network.
